In a touching moment that resonated with every heart present, one of our club members took the stage and spoke with sincerity on the beautiful topic: “Why Should We Respect Our Parents.” His words were not just a speech—they were a reminder of a sacred bond honored deeply in Islam.
He reflected on how, in the teachings of Islam, kindness and respect toward parents come immediately after the worship of Allah. As mentioned in the Holy Qur’an, in Surah Al-Isra (17:23): “Your Lord has decreed that you worship none but Him, and that you be kind to parents…”—a powerful verse that elevates the status of parents to one of the highest in our lives.
The speaker beautifully described the silent sacrifices of our mothers, the unwavering strength of our fathers, and the countless moments of love we often overlook. He reminded us that even a gentle word, a small act of care, or a heartfelt dua can become a means of earning the pleasure of Allah.
